Autobet Insight is our first API application
and for certain functionality it will work much faster
than screen scraping. It has been designed to allow
traders to get in and out of the market with the minimum
of fuss by having a number of pre-set buttons and automated
trade-out functions. Below is a brief overview of what
we have to offer. There is a separate Settings page
which allows the user to create his individual pre-set
buttons.
Manual input boxes for Back Stake and Lay Liabilities.
AI works with Lay Liabilities rather than stakes
Pre-set Back Stake and Lay Liability buttons. One
click loads amounts into the relevant Stake or Liability
boxes
ATO Percentage buttons. ATO stands for Automatic
Trade Out, also know as Offset positions. If this
function is activated by clicking button 7, when a
Bet or Lay is matched AI will offer an Offset bet
based on the ATO percentage and ATO Tick Value set
on the Settings page. For instance, say you made a
bet and got 50 matched at 1.98. Say your ATO Tick
Value was set to 10 ticks and your ATO% was set to
100. AI would then offer a Lay at 1.98 minus 10 ticks
i.e 1.88 for 50. If the ATO% was set to 110, AI would
offer 55 (110% of 50) at 1.88. By altering the ATO
Tick Value and ATO% you can trade out so you create
a built in profit no matter whether your selection
wins or losses. AI only offers the ATO for bets or
lays that have already been matched
Lay-All Price. User input box so you can Lay All
the runners with one click
Reset Columns button. This zeroes the first three
'indicator' columns
Reverse button. This converts the Back buttons to
Lay buttons and vice versa. Handy if you quickly want
to Bet at the Lay prices or Lay at the Bet prices
ATO On/Off button
FOK On/Off button. This allows bets to be offered
on a Fill Or Kill basis. The left-hand menu changes
the time in seconds
Manual input for Price and Bet Stake or Lay Liability.
These boxes allow different prices and stakes to be
set up for each runner. The 'Back' and 'Lay' buttons
send the bets to the market
Pre-Set bet and lay price buttons. These are set
up on the Settings page and allow you to setup any
prices you wish. Very handy for those trading in-running,
particularly when used with the ATO function. Please
note also that ALL the normal 6 Betfair boxes are
one-click
IB, or In-Between bet and lay buttons. These buttons
allow you to offer bets or lays 'in-between' the current
spread and are set up on the Settings page. For instance,
say the current spread on a market is 1.98 to 2.10
and you had your IB Ticks set to 1, then if you clicked
the Dark Blue you'd place a bet at 1 tick less than
the best current lay price i.e 2.10 minus 1 tick,
or 2.08. Likewise, if you clicked on the Dark Pink
button you'd offer a lay at 1 tick better than the
best bet price, or 1.98 plus 1 tick, or 1.99. Very
handy for markets such as the FTSE intraday, particularly
when used in conjunction with the ATO function
MTO, or Manual Trade Out buttons. These buttons
track your P&L based on your current ATO% settings
and with one click allow you to trade out quickly.
In the example below for instance, if I clicked on
the MTO button for Wee Anthony I would make a profit
of 78.50 if he won or 5 if he lost. Very handy for
trading in running
Matched and Unmatched bets windows. Double click
on any unmatched bet to cancel
The first three columns show our unique 'indicators'.
The first (far left) shows the highest single bet
amount and price in Blue and the highest single lay
liability and price in Red. These figures are based
on matched amounts since you opened the market and
can give a good indication of what the heavy hitters
are doing. For instance if you saw that the 2.0 favourite
had a maximum bet of about 1000 but a maximum lay
liability of 20000 this could be a useful bit of information.
The second column counts the number of bets (Blue)
and lays (Red) over an amount which you set on the
Settings page. In the example below I have set the
Filtered Count at 99, so every bet or lay over that
amount is counted (I reset the columns to zero when
the race went in-play using button 5). So in the case
of Wee Anthony, there were 61 bets and 47 lays over
that amount. Again this is useful info when tracking
what the bigger bettors ('strong holders') are doing.
You'll probably want to change the setting for different
markets. The last column shows the bet amount or lay
liability of the last trade matched. Be aware that
there are numerous trades matched at server level
which never can be read by end user software simply
because at times the Betfair activity is so high.
These three 'indicators' can be extremely useful in
that they show you much more clearly what the sentiment
is about a runner from those with better information
than the average punter
